For most new diagnoses with QOF, the patient is automatically exempt for the first 3 months to give you time to achieve appropriate indicators. For cholesterol, as this is a target patient group and not a specific register, there is not 3 months grace on new diagnoses. This does still apply to newly registered patients, just not new diagnoses.
