Launched in May, the NHS retrospective genetic testing programme provides genetic testing via R208/7 panels to people who have previously received a diagnosis of high grade non-mucinous epithelial ovarian cancer, triple negative breast cancer, or bilateral breast cancer. These patients are eligible for genetic testing but records highlight they have not yet received testing.
The programme will send invites direct to patients, however if anyone presents to general practice with questions they should be advised they will receive an invite in due course. Patients presenting with questions should be directed to the programme hotline for support: 020 3437 6001.
