As part of the 2023/24 DES, practices must actively communicate EA appointments to patients - via websites, leaflets, etc) - informing patients:
- How appointments can be accessed
- When they are available
- The specific services available, i.e. doctor appointments, vaccinations, etc
Any changes to EA must be notified to patients and there must be a simple way for patients to be able to cancel appointments should they need to.
NHSE are monitoring practice websites for EA content and have identified practices they believe are not compliant.
We believe the EA DES is unlikely to change much for 2024/25, however, as soon as any changes/updates are released we will be sure to cover them for you all here.
