The NHS App

Tuesday 1st Oct 2019

All GP practices using EMIS Web and TPP SystmOne clinical systems are now connected to the NHS App. Practices using Vision and Microtest systems will be connected soon.

The experience your patients have in the NHS App depends on you. We recommend that you:

  • Set up a test patient at your practice
  • Use this test patient account to view how appointments appear within the app, consider the appointments you make available and change how you describe your appointments in your clinical systems if you need to.

NHS Digital is continuously working on the NHS App and NHS login process. Check out the latest updates for GP practices to find out what's improved and what is planned, including proxy access and pharmacy nomination.

Visit the guidance for GP practices – there is a section specifically for primary care patient-facing roles. NHS England worked with practice staff to develop the resources to help you prepare your systems, brief your staff and tell your patients about the NHS App.
