Following on from the £16 million in 2016/17, a further £8 million funding for 2017/18 has been released. The GPRP aims to deliver a menu of support that will help practices to become more sustainable and resilient. Updated guidance can be found here – https://www.england.nhs.uk/publication/general-practice-resilience-programme-operational-guidance/
While local teams can identify practices for support, a new addition to the guidance is a template to support practices to self-refer/enquire about support. This will make it easier for practices to actively seek support, should they wish Access to the template can be found here – https://www.england.nhs.uk/gp/gpfv/workload/resilience/accessing-support/
All funding is allocated to NHS England’s local teams who are responsible for working locally with CCG’s and LMC’s. GP practices should contact their NHS England local office for more information as early as possible to discuss support. All contact details for LAT’s can be found on the link above.
Other support programmes include the RCGP Peer Support Programme – provides targeted support to practices entering CQC special measures. More information can be found here – http://www.rcgp.org.uk/policy/rcgp-policy-areas/supporting-practices.aspx
