22/04/2010 - Medical Terminology for non-clinical staff |
| Meeting Room 1, Newton Abbot Hospital, Jetty Marsh Road, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ12 2TS starting at 1:30 PM for 2.5 hours | |
Many non-clinical roles in general practice include coding patient information, from admin codes to clinical codes.
It is essential that all information coded is accurate; from the date right through to the diagnosis or symptom.
Many non-clinical staff have never received any medical terminology training, they just ‘pick it up’ as they go along. Is this sufficient when we are talking about critical patient information and on-going care of the patient?
This interactive workshop enables beginners to feel confident enough to understand how clinical terms are put together to make words. This understanding will result in a higher quality of data recorded with far fewer mistakes being made.
This workshop is not only ideal for beginners but also for any non-clinical staff who struggle along coding clinical data that they just do not fully understand.
