Appointments
All patients require appointments making and the various clinical systems have ways of recording who is seeing who at any given time, are you able to manage your appointment book effectively and efficiently and know how to back up the appointment book if required. Then we could provide training on an individual basis or seminar style session in your practice to provide with the knowledge required for booking, cancelling or managing the appointment book for the practice.
Patient Medical Records
In the ever evolving world of patient records and the need for practices to become paper light, how can you ensure that accuracy and quality of patient medical records are complete and summarised electronically? We can provide one to one or seminar style training on patient medical records and how to summarise or input data from historical records or scanning so to become paperlite.
Registrations
The importance of being able to register and de register patients in our ever moving population will ensure that not only has the practice complete and accurate patient records but also the practice register matches that of the Patient Demographics. Our sessions can incorporate registering and deregistering patients on a permanent or temporary basis also how to deal with GP2GP transfers. This knowledge will ensure list sizes are accurate and thus help with prevalence and disease registers.
Search, Reports and Audits
Searches, reports and Audit training can be tailored to your needs, allowing you too quickly & accurately report on data. As a Clinician you will also benefit from knowing how to provide the required data for reporting to PCTs/LHBs or provide evidence for Professional development. Sessions could include hands on training, seminar based training, one to one sessions, and we can even create hand-out's for you to follow, for specific searches or reports.
Practices have also employed us to carry out data collection on their behalf, as we are experienced in all clinical systems & can quickly extract the data required, even analyse your data and create reports if required.
QOF Basics
Administrative staff are detrimental to the success of QoF be it directly or indirectly, They could be a new member of the practice team, to which case they would benefit from one of our seminars on the Basics of QoF so that they have a base knowledge of what and how it came about and how they contribute to the success of QoF within the practice. It may also act as a refresher for those that have been in practice for a while and maybe complacent with the basics.
Read Codes and Medical Terminology
Read Codes are pivotal to every piece of data we enter into our clinical systems. This will ensure that all users understand the structure & use of coding which determines patient medical history, on-going patient care & income. Coupled with this many non-clinical roles in general practice include coding patient information, from admin codes to clinical codes. It is essential that all information coded is accurate; from the date right through to the diagnosis or symptom. Many non-clinical staff have never received any medical terminology training. Is this sufficient when we are talking about critical patient information and on-going care of the patient?
This interactive workshop enables beginners to feel confident enough to understand how clinical terms are put together to make words. This understanding will result in a higher quality of data recorded and greater patient care and how to incorporate it with read coding within the patient's health record.
Telephone Techniques
With more emphasis on customer care and patient access in practice our seminar on telephone techniques may provide a quality of service and customer focus to best provide the patient with information when they contact the practice. Important for all front line non clinical staff to be able to be polite and diffuse awkward situations when the patient may be difficult and be courteous at all times. This seminar will provide the skills and knowledge required to provide a strong customer focused team.
